Inspiration - Finding the Rhythms
Acrylic on wood panel, 25 x 25in, Ampersand panel frame (black.)
Emotions overflow. The environment is a product of me. I am the “This” in “why we can’t have nice things.”

This painting is titled after one of my favorite Simpsons clips. I feel like the clip I’m thinking of could be the next Wilhelm Scream. Whenever you are shit out of luck or hurting bad, drop to your knees and shout!
The original image is very early SINC. I was experimenting with xerox and goldleaf as one does in art school. I would make a collage of a face and then drag the image on the glass to blend it all. Believe it or not this new painting is related ever so slightly in theme. The figure in the original is almost saint like with a golden halo. I was imagining a more emotional gesture for this new “saint” so I chose this classic pose of pain, of struggle, and of screaming “WHY ME!?” to the universe. Also, the fire. Both images feature fire.
The flower represents something precious, a love. The pink rayz of doom represent the level of mistakes this guy is capable of. Fire and destruction is the fruit of his labor.
This is probably the most fun I have had with masking tape. I was using a glaze of translucent hot pink over all of the graphic elements to give them this afterglow and tint.
The buildings are classic SINC leveled up. I had a blast refining my process for the box houses I have drawn for so long. They still represent a childlike perception of home. Shading in some extra details like the graffiti and the ac unit are intended to bring a sense of place to the simple geometry.
