The original cover of New what Next is an assemblage of a map (pathways,) a plant (life/growth,) and a skull (death.) This new image captures a similar thematic direction with this person’s life choices manifesting as a tangle growing out of his head.
Flowers represent life events or important moments. He is moving through a public environment (the background branches,) contributing to the thicket. Stress manifests as sweat on his brow. He is a hard livin soul. He could have taken any number of those vines at the crossroads. The composition of flora is this dudes alone.
