My version - Panic Depression
This was so much fun and such a passion project. For the texture collage I used photos I snapped around Brooklyn. Most of these images are of spots along Bedford in Bed Stuy.
Translating the characters was so much fun. I really struggled fitting the guy in the middle. I was so in love with the two bros on the left and right I had to awkwardly fit him in there to match the hand position.
Stripes were a new thing I thought i would try. Alternating the value and color of the stripe as it travelled to simulate shadow and light was cool. The shading could have been done quickly with an overlay fill but the crummy-ness of the hand drawn lines is intentional and i love the way they turned out.
